Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday at 2 a.m.

The Central Time zone will be on Central Daylight Time from Sunday at 2 a.m. CST until Nov. 14, when Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m.

Fire departments encourage checking batteries in home smoke detectors when they change their clocks. More than 90 percent of homes in the U.S. have smoke detectors, but one-third are estimated to have dead or missing batteries.
