The Terrance Wall for U.S. Senate campaign emailed this news item in its quest to replace single-payer-health-care-advocate U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold (D–Wisconsin):

With their life on the line, Canadians know where to go for health care: America.

Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams is scheduled for life-saving heart surgery this week — not in the home of single-payer, taxpayer funded health care, but in the United States.

“There is only one place in the world where it’s safe to be sick and that’s right here in America,” Wall said. “It’s clear that if they had a choice, Canadians would rather have the health care we enjoy here and not the government controlled system Russ Feingold supports.”

Russ Feingold has said he supports a Canadian style single-payer health care system.

President Obama has also said he favors a Canadian-style single-payer health care system, incrementally. Liberals’ desire for that kind of system — the ultimate “public option” — is threatening Obamacare from the left, which is ironic.
